WHO WE ARE
Oak Grove United Methodist Church
We are a group of dedicated individuals passionate about serving the Lord.
We believe the Holy Spirit draws men and women to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church.
The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need.
OUR BELIEFS
We are united through Christ
We believe in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
OUR VISION
We want to be a light to our community by reaching out to all God's people with the love of Jesus Christ.
Jesus' "Great Commission" to His disciples was to "Go ye into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation." (Mark 16:15)
We believe that Christ is calling us to dedicate our time, talents, gifts and service to the great purpose;
therefore, our desire is to put the interests of Christ and others first and to be a true witness to His outreaching love.
Our prayer is that our personal lives, as well as our corporate life as a church, will truly reflect this vision.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Come as you are
We want you to come just as you are. When you walk through our doors you may see people in suits and ties, but you will also see people in jeans and t-shirts. We want to make sure when you visit you are comfortable and that is all that matters to us. As long you are come through our doors, we want to make sure you feel loved and welcomed. If you ever need anything, always feel free to connect with us. We love to hear from our new visitors.
Worship
9AM
Each Sunday we gather in the Lord's name with prayer, scripture, and hymn. We open the Scriptures through reading and preaching. We respond to this proclamation of God's Word through prayer and supplication, acts of commitment and faith, and in the offering of ourselves. At the conclusion, we are sent forth in ministry to the world, empowered by the Holy Spirit, with God's blessing.
Sunday School
10AM
There is a place for everyone in Sunday School. We have classes from infants through senior adults. Join us for Bible Study.
Worship
11AM
Located in the Sanctuary, the 11 AM service offers an inviting atmosphere for worship with a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship music led by our multi-generational praise and worship team and adult choir, visual media, and contemplative and challenging messages. It is a place to come as you are and freely worship our Lord and Savior.
Wednesday Night Activities
5:30PM/6:30PM
On Wednesday nights during the school year (August-May) dinner is served so that families can enjoy a good meal together and still be able to participate in our activities and Bible Studies on Wednesdays. Meals are provided for a small fee, and we begin serving at 5:30 pm.
At 6:30 pm Wednesday Night Activities and Bible Study Groups begin for all ages.
